The 2010 Women’s Mini Marathon will take place this year on bank holiday Monday, June 7th and St. James’s Hospital Foundation is calling on all walkers, joggers and runners to join the St. James’s team and raise valuable sponsorship for the hospital.

In 2009, 345 St. James’s supporters took part in the annual event, raising €48,000 in valuable sponsorship. The Foundation is hoping that our supporters will repeat this outstanding effort once again this year, and is asking anyone who may be interested in taking part in this day of fun and fundraising to please contact the Foundation office.

The O’Callaghan Stephen’s Green Hotel will once again this year be generously hosting a post-marathon event for all St. James’s Hospital participants. Here our supporters will be welcome to enjoy post-race refreshments and massages from the hospital’s Department of Physiotherapy, supported by Weleda Massage Balm supplied by Natural Medicine Company. Cornmarket Insurance have also very generously once again sponsored some lovely spot prizes for the event.

As always, the Foundation would welcome any funds raised for any department, ward or service within the hospital. This year however we are encouraging supporters to fundraise in particular for the hospital’s stroke service – the current focus of the Foundation’s fundraising efforts.
