Dolls’ house raffle for hospital Stroke Service

This Christmas, for the second year, St. James’s Hospital will raffle a dolls’ house.  The tickets for the limited raffle of 3,000 tickets to win the fully decorated and furnished Georgian-style house – almost a metre high and valued at €2,500 – are now for sale and the draw will take place on Thursday, December 17th in St. James’s Hospital. All proceeds of the raffle will benefit the hospital’s Stroke Service.

The house has been built, decorated and furnished by The Doll Store on South Great George’s Street in Dublin and is now on display in the showroom windows of James Adam & Sons on St Stephen’s Green. Raffle tickets cost €5 and are on sale at The Doll Store and Adam’s and in St. James’s Hospital. Two runners-up will each win a prize of a Christmas hamper valued at €100.

St. James’s Hospital admits between 400 and 450 stroke patients annually from all over Ireland – more than is admitted to any other hospital in the state. The hospital is focused on supporting stroke patients by developing organised specialist care and aims to fundraise €250,000 before the end of 2010 to provide a range of specialist facilities that will enable further improvements to the stroke service and ensure outcomes consistent with best practice throughout the world.
