Halloween party for Denis Burkitt

Ms Niamh Halvey and her brother-in-law, Mr Graham Campbell

On Saturday October 31st 2009, Ms Niamh Halvey from Garryowen, Co Limerick held a fancy dress Halloween party to benefit the Denis Burkitt Ward at St. James’s Hospital. The event was held at The Track pub, Garryowen, which was full to the brim with Niamh’s friends and family – guests who included the Spice Girls, Marilyn Monroe, Ozzy Osborne and Jack Sparrow…

Niamh, a former patient of Denis Burkitt ward, raised €1,200 at the event, a donation which she has given as a way of saying thank you for care received during her time at St. James’s. Niamh has previously supported the hospital through her participation in the 2009 Women’s Mini Marathon. In June she organised a group of 20 of her friends to raise sponsorship and to travel to Dublin to take part in the 10K race. Her group raised over €2,000 in Mini Marathon sponsorship for the Denis Burkitt Ward.

St. James’s Hospital Foundation would like to thank Niamh for her generous fundraising efforts and congratulate her on the success of her Halloween event.
