€48,000 raised in 2009 Women's Mini Marathon Fundraising

Over 340 women took part in the 2009 Women’s Mini Marathon to raise funds for St. James’s Hospital and, with 200 already having returned sponsorship money, the hospital’s Mini Marathon fundraising total has now reached over €38,000. Funds have been given for a variety of different departments, wards and services including the Breast Care Department, Denis Burkitt Ward, GUIDE Clinic, Intensive Care Unit, John Houston Ward and Oncology Unit, as well as funds given for the general benefit of the hospital.

The Foundation is delighted to have exceeded the 2008 Mini Marathon fundraising total, when €30,000 was raised for St. James’s. The Women’s Mini Marathon proceeds have nearly quadrupled in three years – in 2006 €10,000 was raised by St. James’s Hospital supporters, and in 2007 €15,000 was raised.
