An 18th birthday present to remember

Peter McGonigle, of Ballyshannon in Co Donegal, celebrated his 18th birthday in February 2009 and St. James’s Hospital was most fortunate to benefit. Instead of collecting presents, Peter collected donations and gave the €5,000 collected for the benefit of prostate cancer research at the hospital. 

On February 27th a party attended by about 300 guests was held in Paris Nightclub in Bundoran and Peter asked all guests for a gift for the hospital. (His brother Niall also generously arranged for Peter to have his legs waxed for the entertainment of guests!) The family were most grateful to all who supported their fundraising for the hospital.

Peter, who has recently completed his Leaving Cert exams, generously decided to fundraise for St. James’s as his father, David, is a patient. The hospital and Foundation are most grateful to Peter for his generous gift and for his initiative to fundraise.
