John Cusack Memorial

The John Cusack Memorial Pro-Am took place on July 1st 2008 at Knightsbrook Hotel Spa & Golf Resort, and proceeds of €60,000 have now been donated to St. James’s Hospital for the benefit of cancer services. The golf classic was organised by the Cusack family and staff at Knightsbrook in memory of the late Mr John Cusack, founder and managing director of Cusack Homes, Cusack Hotels and Knightsbrook Hotel & Golf Resort.

Over 200 golfers attended Knightsbrook Golf Resort, Trim, Co Meath, to take part in this special golfing event. Participants included a number of Irish television and radio personalities, sporting heroes, high profile business people and professionals from some of Ireland’s top clubs.

Mr Jonathan Cusack, Director of the Cusack Group and son of the late Mr Cusack said; “It was a sensational day and John would have been thrilled to see so many people playing their part in the fight against cancer. When John was ill, he received terrific treatment at St. James’s Hospital and the family fully recognised this kindness. We wanted to return some of this and so the idea of the John Cusack Memorial Pro-Am was established.”

Funds raised at the John Cusack Memorial will be used to provide social support for cancer patients and their families and to invest in revolutionary new equipment for cancer services at St. James’s Hospital. The Foundation is most grateful to the Cusack Family and the staff at Knightsbrook Hotel and Golf Resort for their most generous donation.
