Packing bags for a worthy cause

The 2008 Halloween weekend was a busy one for one St. James’s supporter. Mrs Pauline Cahill was joined by friends and family as she packed bags and collected donations at her local Supervalu in Cavan, raising over €2,500 for the benefit of St. James’s Hospital.

Mrs Cahill was delighted to have had such a generous response from the public while fundraising, and was pleased to encounter other supporters of St. James’s. She said: “I really enjoyed the experience, it was a great few days. It was so interesting to speak to people and hear their personal stories about St. James’s. Some were past patients, others still attending. One thing they all had in common though was that when they saw who we were collecting for they immediately said what a great hospital and a worthy cause this was.”

Mrs Cahill has kindly donated all funds raised through her bag-packing weekend for the general benefit of St. James’s Hospital. These funds will be disbursed through an internal grants competition benefiting staff and patient facilities, research and education projects throughout the hospital.

St. James’s Hospital Foundation is very grateful to Mrs Cahill, and her friends and family, for all their hard work and generosity.
