Saints and Sinners Masked Ball

 Niamh Monaghan

On October 23rd 2008, saints and sinners from all over Dublin came together in Sin Theatre Bar, Temple Bar, to support St. James’s and celebrate the Halloween weekend. The Saints and Sinners Masked Ball, organised by Niamh Monaghan, raised over €3,000 for the benefit of the Diabetes Day Centre at St. James’s.

Niamh, originally from Celbridge but now living in Louth, works in Dublin for Kenmare Resources. In 2008 she was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and decided to organise the fundraising event as a way of saying thank you to the Diabetes Day Centre for their care.

The evening was a great success with over 150 people in attendance. Niamh provided prizes for the best costume and held a raffle to raise further funds. With prizes sponsored by The Westbury, Nourish and The Great Outdoors among others, party-goers had the chance to bag some great prizes while contributing to a very worthy cause. Those in attendance also enjoyed diabetic-friendly cocktails, created especially for the event by the staff of Sin. Please click here to view pictures from the event.

St. James’s Hospital Foundation would like to sincerely thank Niamh for all her fundraising efforts and all those who attended and donated.
