We also have strong working relationships with the Clinical Nurse Specialists and Cancer Nurse Co-Ordinators.
The majority of our patients on Private 2 are on a journey through cancer treatment and while surgery is our speciality we also work closely with the radiation oncology, medical oncology palliative care and psychiatric oncology teams.
On Private 2 we strive to provide the highest standards of nursing care for all our patients and their relatives. Nursing care on Private 2 is guided by the Roper Logan Tierney model and we focus on helping individuals to acquire, maintain and/or restore maximum independence in the activities of daily living following surgery. The nursing care we provide is individualised to each patient and attends to both the physiological and emotional needs of the patient.
We are committed to excellence in nursing care and provide and open, dynamic and active clinical learning environment for all staff and students. Knowledge is seen as the key to informed decision making and all effort are made to expand and develop the knowledge base of staff, patient and their relatives. Both Clinical Nurse Managers are actively involved clinical education and a local and national level.
