SCOPe was established in 2001as the Management Unit for the Therapy and Social Care professions in St James’s Hospital. The Unit comprises Speech & Language Therapy, Medical Social Work, Clinical Nutrition, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy. SCOPe services are patient centred as demonstrated by our service planning, service delivery activities and excellent communication. SCOPe disciplines work closely with other health care professions in the hospital to deliver evidence based and quality care to our clients. SCOPe provides inpatient, outpatient and day care services to all specialities of the hospital. In terms of staff the unit has over 230 staff (full and part time). SCOPe inpatient and outpatient activity statistics show over 214,179 patient contacts per year.
