Day Surgery Procedures

Description

The Day Surgery unit consists of 18 beds with 2 major theatres and 1 minor theatre. The unit admits patients who are booked for a planned day surgery procedure. They are discharged on the same day and may require a bed or trolley for a period prior to discharge. These procedures may be either minor or intermediate, requiring sedation, local anaesthetic or general anaesthetic. Patients requiring general anaesthetic have their procedure done in main theatre but are cared for pre and post operatively in the day surgery unit.

From the James's Street entrance, turn left at Junction 2.  Access is through the main entrance of the Hospital.  We are located on the first floor, you will see route signs hanging from the ceiling. Follow the Purple route 5 off the main concourse.
