Visitors should be restricted to family members only or very close friends. Visitors who have been in contact with any transmissible infections e.g. flu, chicken pox, winter vomiting bug must not enter the unit.

Haematology/ Bone Marrow Transplantion
Denis Burkitt is a 21-bedded unit. Each bed is housed in a hepa-filtered isolation room with anti-room and all are en-suite. Admission is controlled by the CNM and the haematology consultants. The unit is the national adult bone marrow transplant centre. Entrance to the unit is via locked entrance only. All staff and visitors must use an intercom and are instructed to wash their hands on entering and leaving the unit. This is in the interests of patient safety

From the James’s Street entrance proceed to Junction 2, turn left and enter the main hospital building.
Continue straight and take the last right towards the blue Route 4. Take the first left and Denis Burkitt ward is straight ahead.
