John Houston is a 31-bedded unit, which is situated on the second floor of the new hospital. The ward is part of the CREST Directorate together with Robert Adams, CCU, CAT Lab and Keith Shaw Cardio thoracic unit. John Houston provides many opportunities for learning. The type of patients cared for here are those suffering with COAD (Chronic Obstructive Airways Disease), Respiratory Failure, Asthma and other lung diseases, We also care for patients diagnosed with lung cancer receiving Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy or Palliative Care, BIPAP & CPAP Therapy.

From the James’s Street entrance proceed to Junction 2, turn left and enter the main hospital building.
Continue straight and take the last right towards the blue Route 4. Immediately around the corner to the right is a lift. Take this to the second floor. On emerging from the lift take a right and then the next left. John Houston ward is located on the right hand side.
