Cardiac Surgery
Keith Shaw Unit is a 21-bedded Cardiac Surgery Unit comprising of six intensive care beds and 15 ward beds (four of which are high dependency). The unit admits both planned and emergency patients for Cardiac Surgery, e.g. coronary artery bypass grafts or valve surgery. All patients for planned surgery are seen in a pre-admission clinic led by the Advanced Nurse Practioners prior to their surgery. The average length of stay per patient is approximately 7 days.

From the James’s Street entrance proceed to Junction 2, turn left and enter the main hospital building.
Continue straight and take the last right towards the blue Route 4. Take the second left turn. Take the lift to the first floor. Exit the lift to the left and take the next left down the corridor. At the end of the corridor go left. The Keith Shaw Unit is straight ahead and round to the right.
