Acute Medical Admissions Unit

Description

The unit is a short stay, high intensity area, receiving acutely ill medical patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We aim to provide you with a fast, efficient service, thus to provide you with the necessary treatment at the earliest time, which may reduce your hospital stay.

Please be aware that your maximum length of stay in our unit is 5 days. Should you need to stay longer, you will be transferred to a ward that specialises in your illness. Transfers may take place 24 hours.

Location

From the James’s Street entrance proceed to Junction 2, turn left and enter the main hospital building.

Continue straight and take the last right towards the blue Route 4. Then take the second turn on the left and continue down this corridor. Sir William Wilde ward is located on the right hand side.
