Acute Medical Admissions

Description

St. Kevin's Ward is part of the Acute Medical Assessment Unit. The A.M.A.U. admits patients directly from the Emergency Department. A.M.A.U. is a 59 bedded unit divided into St. Kevin's (28 beds) and William Wilde (31 beds).

The aim of the unit is to admit medical patients as rapidly as possible from the Emergency Department, rapid investigation, early diagnosis and treatment and early planned discharge. The unit provides an exceptional multidisciplinary service. It also provides and promotes a dynamic nursing environment which values education and professional development.

From the James’s Street entrance proceed to Junction 2, turn left and enter the main hospital building.

Continue straight and take the last right towards the blue Route 4. Then take the second turn on the left and continue down this corridor. St. Kevin's Ward is straight ahead.
