Information Governance

Information Governance is about setting a high standard for the handling of personal health information and giving organisations the tools needed to achieve that standard. Good information governance allows organisations and individuals make sure that personal information such as that contained in a healthcare record is handled legally, securely, efficiently and effectively in order to deliver the best possible care to people who use the health services.

St. James's Hospital has its own Information Governance team who ensure this framework is adhered to throughout the organisation. They ensure that the appropriate policies and procedures are in place to deliver best practise to the capture, management, use and care of your personal data.
