Physio Open Day

Transition year, fifth and sixth year students are invited to attend our Physiotherapy Open Day at the Physiotherapy Department in St James’s Hospital.

This Open Day will be held on Thursday 29th March from 10am-12.30pm.

Physiotherapists from the hospital will give an overview of the assessment and management of patients from their own specialties. We aim to have a strong practical element to this open day and attendees will have the opportunity to try various assessment and treatment techniques. Students will be able to ask questions at any stage.

Physiotherapists will speak on specialties including: outpatient musculoskeletal physiotherapy, orthopaedics, sports physiotherapy, rehab of the older person/stroke, respiratory/cardiorespiratory and paediatrics.

During the day there will be a previous patient from the hospital giving a short talk on the role physiotherapy played in his recovery. There will also be a student focused talk from a fourth year physiotherapy student who will discuss the undergraduate programs offered in Ireland currently in physiotherapy.
