The nursing community with a multinational staff of over 1,600 is vibrant, dynamic and plays a central role in the delivery of quality care.
Here at St James’s Hospital, we are also committed to our nurses’ professional and personal development. As a hospital, we actively support and encourage our nursing staff, at all levels, to enhance their skills, develop and expand their professional practice, and participate in continuing training and postgraduate education programmes.
There are over 40 different inpatient and ambulatory care clinical areas that our nurses work in, with many of these clinical areas being national or tertiary referral centres. This offers nurses the opportunity to work with experts in services leading with innovative and specialist patient care.
Nursing research is paramount and encouraged at all grades. The successful partnership between St James's Hospital and the Trinity Centre for Practice & Healthcare Innovation (TCPHI), School of Nursing and Midwifery research capacity building program was established has resulted in advancing the nursing research agenda within the Nursing team.
