Sub speciality: Gynaecological pathology

Dr Ó Riain is a consultant histopathologist. He is the lead surgical pathologist on the gynaecological oncology multidisciplinary team. A graduate of University College Dublin (2000), he undertook his specialist histopathology training on the Dublin South Training Scheme.

He commenced a Cancer Research UK Clinical Research PhD Fellowship at Barts Cancer Institute in London in 2007 and was awarded a PhD from the University of London in 2011.

Prior to commencing at St James’s Hospital in 2013, Dr Ó Riain spent time at centres of gynaecological pathology in Boston, Sheffield and Belfast.
