Welcome to
THE NATIONAL MEDICINES INFORMATION CENTRE

The National Medicines Information Centre (NMIC) aims to promote the safe, effective and efficient use of medicines. We undertake this role through our clinical enquiry answering service, publication of information outputs and education.

Evidence-based information is provided to prescribers on a range of topics including:

  • Indications, contraindications and dosage for specific drugs
  • Drug interactions and adverse effects
  • Drug use in pregnancy, breastfeeding, liver and renal impairment
  • Identification of medicines
