Dr Aisling O'Mahony

Dr O’Mahony was appointed as a consultant in restorative dentistry (prosthodontics) in 2002. Dr O’Mahony is the clinical lead for cleft prosthodontics/orthodontics at St James’s Hospital and also the national clinical lead for dental care for head and neck cancer patients.

The Prosthodontic Clinic for patients born with cleft lip and palate was set up by Dr O’Mahony in 2002 and now provides tertiary restorative treatment for the majority of patients born with cleft lip and palate and other craniofacial anomalies in Ireland.

    Dr O’Mahony completed her dental degree at the Dublin Dental School and Hospital, University of Dublin, Trinity College Dublin. She received a fellowship in dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.

    Dr O’Mahony studied prosthodontics at the University of Missouri Kansas City (UMKC) where she received a Master's in Prosthodontics and Oral Biology. Dr O’Mahony was appointed as an assistant professor in prosthodontics and tenured as an associate professor at UMKC. She also studied for her American dental degree (Doctor of Dental School).
