Dr Duane is a consultant radiation oncologist at St Luke's Hospital and St James's Hospital.
She completed her specialist oncology training in 2014 having trained in the Northern Ireland Cancer Centre, Belfast and St Luke's Hospital, Dublin. She completed a 4-year Medical Research Council clinical oncology research fellowship at the University of Oxford and was awarded her doctorate in 2018. Dr Duane focuses on improving the quality of care received by patients with breast cancer undergoing radiotherapy through her clinical work and through her research. Dr Duane has a keen interest in medical education and enjoys supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students. She is the Academic Teaching Lead for Oncology on campus.
Dr Duane's publications focus on the risks and benefits of breast cancer radiotherapy. Her scientific work has been widely cited and has influenced national and international guidelines.
