Patient Experience

The stoma care service provides support and education to patients with all types of stoma, enterocutaneous fistula or internal pouch.

The service is provided by clinical nurse specialists.

We provide education and support to new and existing stoma patients by means of:

  • Providing high-quality, evidence based clinical care
  • Education and training before and after surgery
  • Reviewing and treating stoma related complications
  • Collaboration with all members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient-centred care.

We also provide education and training for healthcare staff within the hospital.
