With reference to the ransomware attack on the HSE IT systems, we are advising all patients to attend their scheduled appointments as normal. We ask patients to attend appointments alone where possible. Patients should arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before their appointment. This is to ensure our waiting rooms adhere to social distance guidelines.

St James’s Hospital internal IT systems have not been affected and are still operational. The attack has resulted in the national computer systems shared with the HSE not being available at present. The HSE is working to reactivate these national systems as quickly as possible and we are in constant contact with the HSE to facilitate the safe return of these systems.

The hospital is at all times committed to ensuring the privacy and confidentiality of your personal data and took steps when notified of the HSE breach to ensure the security and continued use of our internal IT systems.
