New cardiology and respiratory unit (CRU) opened on St James’s Hospital campus

The new cardiology and respiratory unit (CRU) opened to patients and service users on Monday 24 January 2022. The building sits beside the main hospital’s entrance and can be accessed from the front of the building.

A range of services have moved to the CRU including; diagnostic cardiology, (ECHO, ECG, Stress Test, Pacing) Respiratory lab (lung function tests) and the Heart Support Team.

Fast track projects like this are essential to the hospital’s campus development. St James’s Hospital’s infrastructure is constantly expanding and evolving to ensure that the best possible care can be provided to patients and service users.
