Dr Leonard graduated from Trinity College in 1991 and started her training in Histopathology in St James’s Hospital before moving to the UK to a training post in London followed by consultant posts in Newcastle and Liverpool. In Liverpool Dr Leonard was involved in setting up the School of Pathology and also Lean transformation of the laboratory. Dr Leonard returned to St James’s Hospital in 2011 and was appointed as Clinical Director of the Laboratory Medicine Directorate (LabMed) in 2022.
