The Dermatology Department provides care to people with a wide variety of skin problems This service is provided on an inpatient or outpatient basis.

Our services

  • General dermatology with subspecialist interest in eczema, psoriasis, cutaneous lymphoma & adverse cutaneous drug reactions
  • Dermatologic surgery - Mohs micrographic surgery, nail surgery, skin cancer & facial skin surgery
  • Laser - Alexandrite laser, pulse dye laser and Nd:YAG laser
  • Minor surgery - biopsies, excisions, cautery & curettage
  • Epidermolysis bullosa
  • Camouflage
  • Cryotherapy
  • Patch testing
  • Intralesional triamcinolone
  • Ultra violet light therapy - narrow band UVB and PUVA
  • Wound care and management of skin blistering disorders
  • If you feel you require treatment in our Dermatology Department you should go to your GP who can refer you to our service. Referrals are clinically prioritised by the consultants, based on the information provided in the referral.

     

  • Referrals to the Dermatology Department can be made via Healthlink (Choose general dermatology or pigmented lesion from dropdown options).

    Referrals can also be made by letter.

    Exclusion Criteria
    Due to the increasing number of referrals of patients with skin conditions and lesions, and in order to ensure that patients are seen in a timely manner, we propose to decline referrals and not to offer treatment for certain benign skin conditions, except in exceptional circumstances. See letter below.
