The digitalisation of St James's Hospital

St James's Hospital first implemented Electronic Patient Record (EPR) functionality in 2006 and continues to forge a path towards a fully integrated EPR for all our patients. Project Oak was the name given the large scale change project which saw the rollout of the EPR across all inpatient areas of the hospital and allowed for electronic clinical documentation, eprescribing and medication administration across the hospital.

The successful rollout of Project Oak in October 2018 transformed the way in which we deliver care for inpatients in the hospital. St James’s worked with Cerner who are the vendor of our EPR to create this short video which outlines the benefits that the staff across the hospital felt they got from Project Oak and from using an Electronic Patient Record system in our hospital.
