8 September, 2021

First of its kind Syncope and Related Disorders post-graduate programme begins Monday, 13 September, 2021

Syncope and related disorders are responsible for up to 10% of admissions to hospital and general practice attendances.

The Inaugural Syncope and Related Disorders post-graduate certified clinical programme, through the Mercer’s Institute for Successful Ageing, is the first course of its kind designed to provide you with the in-depth knowledge, skills and attributes to disorders in a range of clinical settings and within a syncope unit.

This one-year postgraduate clinical programme includes a week-long lecture programme (see attached and can ‘lecture programme’ be hyperlinked), clinical placement, online content and case presentations.

For those working in and/or with an interest in syncope, including: cardiology, neurology, emergency medicine, geriatric medicine and acute medicine.

A systematic approach to evaluation and management reduces misdiagnosis, reduces hospitalisations, reduces cost and improves quality of life and morbidity and mortality.

The fully subscribed course is endorsed by national speciality leads in geriatric medicine, cardiology, neurology and emergency medicine.
