Reduce the risk of Covid-19 infection

10 November, 2021

Covid-19 infection rates are currently on the rise in our local community. When the virus spreads in a hospital it can infect both patients and hospital staff. The staff at St James’s Hospital are doing their best to keep everyone safe and to slow down the spread of the virus by taking many strict infection control measures. Despite these efforts, outbreaks of the virus can occur in the hospital.

To reduce your risk of getting Covid-19 while in hospital, we ask that you; wear a face mask at all times, wash your hands regularly, reduce your movements around the hospital and keep your distance from others. You should also cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze. Patients and services users are reminded that smoking is not permitted on campus and may lead to the spread of Covid-19 infection.
