Virtual Nursing Open Day 2021

Calling all Nurses!

Would you like to work in Ireland’s largest acute teaching hospital? If you answered yes, then the St James's Hospital Virtual Nursing Open Day is for you. It is the quickest and easiest way to learn first-hand about our job opportunities, our culture and our nursing community at St James's Hospital.

If you are an experienced or newly qualified nurse (due to graduate in September, 2021) join us on the day to explore the opportunities available to you. Your future starts here!

The virtual open day is a one-stop-shop event for nurses and offers loads of benefits, such as:

• the chance to meet our friendly clinical staff and chat all things ‘Nursing in St James's Hospital’ to learn about the wide range of specialities and experienced multi-disciplinary teams in St James's Hospital - there’s definitely something here for everyone!
• to discuss career opportunities in SJH, where training and development is truly encouraged
• the opportunity to be shortlisted for interview on the day and to be scheduled for interview in the coming weeks.

So, if you fulfil the criteria below and want to speak with people working in the field and pick their brains about the skills and qualifications needed to help you make the next move in your career, then come join us for our Virtual Nursing Open Day.

Academic/ professional qualifications and/ or relevant experience (required):

• Be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)

AND

• have a minimum of six months experience (postgraduate or undergraduate) in medical/surgical nursing in an acute hospital setting within the past four years. Note:
• Post holders must maintain annual registration with NMBI.

Technical/Clinical Competencies (desirable):

• Basic IT skills
• Basic Life Support

On the day:

• Log onto the Zoom link which you will receive from us by email following registration via Eventbrite
• Have your up to date CV available to you on the day
• If you are shortlisted for interview on the day, you will be requested to submit your CV to nursejobs@stjames.ie by Sunday, 30th May (if you have not done so already).

If you are unable to attend the virtual open day, please forward an up-to-date CV along with a cover letter clearly indicating the speciality area(s) of interest to you and send to nursejobs@stjames.ie no later than Sunday, 30th May 2021

Following the virtual open day:

If you are shortlisted (following review of your CV) you will be invited for interview in the coming weeks.
