The Falls Prevention & Management Committee will be running a Falls Awareness Event with the theme of ‘From Awareness to Action’ from the 18th – 22nd of September 2023. Falls are one of the biggest safety risks for people and they can cause harm at any age. Increasing falls awareness has the potential to help prevent falls, which could result in serious injury. Through raising awareness of falls and falls risk factors, this enables both patients and staff to implement changes, which will assist in the reduction of falls. The week commences with the Falls MDT visiting the wards on Monday. On Tuesday and Wednesday, we will have falls stands in different locations. We will be running a falls simulation (various locations) on Thursday. We finish the week with an exercise class for patients in MISA Creative Life on Friday.
