Patient Notice

The recent rise of respiratory illnesses in the community has resulted in a higher volume of presentations to our Emergency Department (ED).

While the hospital makes every effort to reduce the risk of transmission, our ability to continue to separate both respiratory illness and non-respiratory illness has been challenged by the increase in ED attendances. We will continue to separate these patient cohorts in our ED while capacity is available, however due to capacity limitations within the department, this will become more challenging, potentially increasing the risk of transmission within the department.

We would like to remind all patients attending our ED to please wear the face mask provided, covering both your mouth and nose and to please sanitise your hands regularly, using the hand sanitiser provided.
