Thursday 12th October 2023 from 11am-2pm
Creative Living Space in the Misa Building in St. James
We are proud to launch the Gynaecology Patient Passport and the Gynae Oncology Survivorship clinic for people who have been diagnosed with Ovarian, Uterine, Cervical , Vaginal and Vulval cancers.
The passport is a document that patients will receive on their first visit to the St. James Gynaecology Team that they will carry with them throughout their cancer journey. It will have information about their diagnosis, treatment and helpful resources to support them, empowering them to take ownership of their care.
The Survivorship clinic is a new service for our Gynaecology patients relating to survivorship and holistic needs. Survivorship looks at living well with and beyond cancer and focuses on the concerns you may have in your day to day life, as well as being a link to available resources which may interest you.
At our launch day we have drop in sessions from:
- An aromatherapy Workshop ‘Science and senses’ about how aromatherapy can help in your day to day life. Fiona Hedigan is a qualified aromatherapist and PHD student with a special interest in using aromatherapy to improve stress and anxiety levels in the healthcare setting.
- Sexual Wellbeing and Pleasure with BodyGrá. BodyGrá is Irelands first sexual wellbeing website designed specifically for people with pelvic pain conditions, gynaecological cancer, endometriosis and vaginismus. They sell bodysafe products recommended by healthcare professionals and patients, such as dilators, ohnuts and lubricants. Their founder will be there to provide information and advice about the products they have available.
- ARC Cancer Support Centre provides psychological, emotional, educational, and practical support in a warm and welcoming environment to people with cancer and those who care for them. Their team will be available to chat about the free services that they have on offer.
- At 11.45 am Our Psych-Oncology team will deliver a 15 minute session on ‘Coping strategies for managing stress and anxiety’ and they provide information on our up and coming ‘Fear of Reoccurrence’ workshops that we will be running throughout the year for Gynaecology cancer patients that have finished their treatment.
We would love you to drop by if you are available,
The St. James Gynaecology Team
