The Falls & Syncope Unit, Mercer’s Institute for Successful Ageing (MISA) in St James’s Hospital recently commenced their course in Syncope and Related Disorders. This is the fourth consecutive year that we have hosted this year long post graduate course, which champions our multidisciplinary leadership in this field. This highly sought-after course is always fully subscribed, with a waiting list for 2025 already in place.
The multi-disciplinary course, attended by nurse specialists, specialist registrars, consultants and specialist physiotherapists, commenced with an intensive week-long lecture series. The quality of presentation and engagement by St James’s Hospital staff was of the highest standard.
The organisation behind a week-long intensive course such as this would not be possible without the strong support of the hospital and the organisational support of our nurse leads; Ciara Rice, Clinical Nurse Manager III and Lisa Byrne, Clinical Nurse Specialist.
The programme was greatly enhanced by colleagues at Tallaght University Hospital and our international faculty, including specialists from; cardiology, neurology, general medicine and geriatric medicine from:
