St James’s Hospital is honoured to announce that Zoe Holohan is the official ambassador for the hospital and its Foundation. Zoe’s journey is one of resilience and strength, having lost her husband, Brian, to the Greece wildfires while on honeymoon in 2018 and suffering life altering burns herself in the same tragedy. Since then, Zoe has been on a remarkable journey of healing, from the inside out, assisted by the exceptional care she continues to receive in St James’s Hospital.

For the next year, Zoe will serve as the ambassador for the hospital and her first act as ambassador is to run in the Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon on Sunday, 1 June in aid of St James’s Hospital Foundation. Zoe aims is to bring together the largest team ever to run, jog, or walk in the history of the mini marathon.

On making the announcement, Zoe said; "This ambassadorship means so much to me. St James’s Hospital will always hold a special place in my heart. Staff from across disciplines, both clinical and non-clinical, have been integral to my healing journey. From rebuilding my body, to restoring my hope, St James’s staff are incredible.

“It would mean so much to have as many women as possible join me in the mini marathon to raise crucial funds for critical care in the hospital. Knowing that together we can raise much needed funds to support others facing difficult journeys like mine, brings such meaning to me in my ambassadorship."

Prof. Mary Day, CEO, St James’s Hospital said; "We’re thrilled to have Zoe on board as our official ambassador. Zoe is such a powerful advocate for patients and is using her experiences to help others. Zoe has inspired many within our hospital walls and beyond and we’re proud to officially announce her ambassadorship."

Staff and patients from St James’s Hospital are invited to join Zoe’s team and support the hospital’s Foundation in raising vital funds for Critical Care in the hospital. To join Zoe’s team at this year’s Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon, see here. All donations are welcome and appreciated.
