Ms Aisling Collins was appointed to the role of Chief Operations Officer in St James’s Hospital in November 2024. Prior to this, she held the role of Interim Chief Operations Officer since August 2022.

Aisling began her career in St James’s Hospital where she trained as a pharmacist, leaving briefly to complete a masters in Hospital Pharmacy in Beaumont Hospital. She returned to St James’s Hospital in 2002 and took up the role as Chief II Pharmacist and in 2015 was appointed as Deputy Director of Pharmacy.

From 2019, she was the Operations Manager for the Medicine and Emergency Directorate (MED) before moving to her role as Interim Chief Operations Officer in 2022.

Aisling has extensive experience in healthcare management and provides strong strategic, professional and managerial leadership to all operational activity in the hospital.
