Dr Beirne was appointed as a consultant geriatrician to St James’s Hospital and Our Lady’s Hospice and Care Services in 2023. She previously worked as a consultant geriatrician in Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown from 2019.
Dr Beirne completed higher specialist training in geriatric medicine and general internal medicine in Ireland, achieving specialist registration in 2019. She completed further sub-speciality training in memory and cognitive disorders as the Watts Clinical Research Fellow in the National Memory Clinic in St James’s Hospital from 2012 to 2015.

Dr Beirne completed her undergraduate education through University College Dublin.
