Dr Guiney completed his basic radiology training in the Adelaide and Meath and St James’s Hospitals, Dublin. Having completed fellowships in both interventional radiology and cross sectional imaging in Boston and Harvard University Hospitals, he then took up a consultant post in University College Hospital, London for two years and in Cork University Hospital for a further two years.

Dr Guiney’s areas of interest include all aspects of interventional radiology in particular onco-radiology, ablative therapy and targeted embolotherapy. He is also interested in vascular imaging, cardiac CT and CT colonography.
