Mr Patrick Maguire

Mr Patrick J Maguire is a certified Gynaecological Oncologist and Pelvic Surgeon, surgical trainer and colposcopist. He obtained his medical degree from University College Dublin in 2010 and commenced specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He completed a research Doctorate degree in the Coombe Women’s Hospital from 2014—2016 which focused on patient safety and early detection of critical illness, with research output that contributed to the HSE’s National Maternity Strategy and to the development of inpatient early warning systems internationally. He holds dual membership of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) in London. He is also a member of the Institute of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the professional body responsible for the development of women’s healthcare and the training of Obstetrician-Gynaecologists in Ireland.

Mr Maguire joined St James’s Hospital in 2017 and undertook an internationally recognised, advanced surgical Fellowship Programme in Gynaecological Oncology certified by the RCOG in 2019. He was invited to become Assistant Master of the Rotunda Hospital in 2021 before returning to St James’s Hospital as Gynaecological Oncologist and Pelvic Surgeon in 2022.
