Professional Role
Currently, Dr. O’Donovan serves as a Consultant Haematologist at the National Coagulation Centre in St James’s Hospital. She has a special interest in thrombosis and hemostasis and is the chair of the St James’s Hospital Thrombosis Committee. Her expertise extends to the care of adolescents and young adults with bleeding disorders, an area she is particularly passionate about.
Dr. O’Donovan was awarded an M.D. for her research in haemophilia B and has published her work in leading haemophilia journals as well as presenting at national and international conferences.
In addition to her clinical and research duties, Dr. O’Donovan is dedicated to medical education. She is actively involved in teaching and is a post-graduate lecturer at the Royal College of Physicians, where she helps train the next generation of medical professionals.
