Dr O’Leary is a consultant in palliative medicine and clinical senior lecturer in palliative medicine, Trinity College Dublin.
Her current consultant post is a joint appointment between Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services and St James’s Hospital.

Dr O'Leary completed her Higher Specialist Training in palliative medicine in Ireland. She was awarded a Medical Doctorate by University College Dublin.
She worked as a consultant in the NHS and with Marie Curie Cancer Care in the UK before returning to Ireland.
