Dr Sadhbh O’Rourke is a consultant microbiologist at St James’s Hospital and a clinical senior lecturer at Trinity College Dublin.
Dr O’Rourke graduated from the School of Medicine, University College Dublin, in 2009. Following completion of higher specialist training in clinical microbiology, she undertook a post-CSCST Fellowship in Microbiology, relating to transplantation medicine - haematopoietic stem cell and national transplant coordination.

Dr O’Rourke’s research interests include the seroprevalence and molecular epidemiology of human herpesvirus 8 and immunological aspects of human herpesvirus 8 disease, infections in the immunocompromised patient, antimicrobial stewardship, and the impact of rapid molecular diagnostics on the diagnosis and management of infection.
