Patients’ Choice Award

We want to hear from you!

We are inviting patients, their families, and all service users of St James’s Hospital to take part in this year’s Staff Recognition Awards 2026.

The Patients’ Choice Award gives you the opportunity to recognise any staff member who made a positive difference to your care, or the care of someone close to you during your/their visit or stay in the hospital. This may be someone who showed exceptional kindness, care, compassion, support, communication, or professionalism when it mattered most.

Submitting a nomination is simple just complete the form below and press ‘Submit’.

This year, there will be two Patients’ Choice Awards:

  • Clinical
  • Non‑clinical*

The closing date for nominations is 16th October at 5pm.

The winning staff members will be honoured at the Staff Recognition Awards on 19th November 2026, and their names will be shared on our website.

Please note:

  • Only nominations received directly from patients, patients’ families/loved ones, or service users will be accepted for the Patients’ Choice Award.
  • Nominations submitted by staff members or friends/family of staff members on their behalf cannot be accepted in this category.
  • Any canvassing or organised campaigning by or on behalf of an individual or team will result in disqualification.

Your name and nomination will be shared with the nominated individual and/or team and it will also be shared with the selection committee / judges when they are reading the nominations and selecting the winners. It may be used in promotional material. All other data supplied will be treated in the strictest of confidence, more information can be found in our privacy notice.
