St. James’s Hospital continues to plan and deliver care to our patients in accordance with national guidelines.

In order to protect our patients and staff we have had to limit or change some of our services at this time. Please see updated information below related to appointments and admissions.

Outpatient appointments

We are starting to call patients back into our outpatient services.  If you have an appointment with us, please do not attend unless we have contacted you.

To ensure patient safety and to comply with social distancing, please do not arrive early for your appointment, but arrive on time.

Please be aware that you may have to enter the hospital via  a different entrance point, not the main entrance.

If you believe you have COVID-19 symptoms please do not attend your outpatient appointment and contact your GP.

Thank you for your co-operation.

Day case and endoscopy  appointments

All non-essential endoscopy and day case procedures and surgeries (medical and surgical) are postponed until further notice. Please do not come to the Hospital for an appointment unless you are contacted by us and asked to attend.

Inpatient admissions

All non-urgent admissions to the hospital are postponed. You will be contacted by the Hospital’s Admissions Office to reschedule.

Visiting Restrictions

In the interest of protecting patients and staff and to reduce the possible spread of COVID-19 infection, we are requesting that the public do not visit the Hospital at this time.

In exceptional clinical circumstances visiting will be facilitated for patients by prior agreement from the Clinical Nurse Manger on the ward

No children are permitted to visit the Hospital under any circumstances.

If you require additional information about COVID-19, please see the HSE website here or call the HSE helpline on 1850 241850.
