Routine Coagulation Laboratory (CPL):
Laboratory hours: Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00, Saturday 09:30 to 13:00.
An emergency on-call service is operated outside these hours.
- Routine coagulation screening tests including PT, APTT, INR, Fibrinogen and D-Dimer measurement.
- Anticoagulant monitoring. Warfarin and Heparin monitoring is carried out in the routine coagulation laboratory.
Laboratory NCHCD:
Laboratory hours: Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00.
- The laboratory at the NCHCD analyses samples from patients with suspected bleeding and thrombotic (clotting) disorders. Both inherited and acquired disorders of coagulation are investigated by the laboratory.
- There is a comprehensive testing service for the diagnosis and management of patients with Haemophilia, Von Willebrands Disease, coagulation factor deficiencies, platelet disorders and thrombotic (clotting) defects.
- The testing service includes both functional and genetic testing for these disorders. Mutational analysis of both bleeding and prothrombotic disorders is available.
