Dr Lynam-Lennons’ research group is focused on two main areas; prediction of response to therapy and identification of novel treatment strategies to enhance the tumour response to therapy, with the ultimate goal of improving treatment and survival for patients. The groups research spans several topical areas including miRNA and gene expression profiling, altered mitochondrial function and energy metabolism and altered inflammation (specifically the complement system) in treatment resistance of gastrointestinal cancers utilising both novel cell line models of treatment resistance and blood and tumour samples from patients.
