Meet the Consultant
Dr Patrick Hayden is a consultant haematologist at St. James's Hospital and Medical Director of the Cryobiology Laboratory at the National Adult Stem Cell Transplant Centre. A graduate of University College Dublin, he completed SHO training at the Oxford Radcliffe NHS Trust before returning to Ireland for Specialist Training in Haematology. His MD research was on the genetic epidemiology of myeloma. This was followed by a laboratory fellowship at the Jerome Lipper Myeloma Centre at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. Since returning to St. James’s Hospital in 2010, he has been the clinical lead for the Myeloma service. He is an experienced inspector for the European JACIE Transplant Accreditation Program and is a member of the Clinical Standards Subcommittee of JACIE.
