Dr. J. Mark Ryan
Consultant Interventional Radiologist
Speciality: Interventional Radiology
Dr. Ryan graduated from The University of Dublin, Trinity College, in 1988. He completed his Specialist Training in Interventional Radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston in 1997. He was a Professor of Radiology at Duke University Medical Center in North Carolina. He is a Fellow of the Cardiovascular Interventional Radiological Society of Europe and holds the European Board of Interventional Radiology qualification.
Dr Ryan specialises in delivering minimally invasive (keyhole) oncological and endovascular treatments for many forms of cancer, and also has an expertise in the investigation and minimally invasive treatment of acute bleeding disorders. Dr Ryan also has a particular interest in tumour embolisation and ablation, in interventional treatments in the paediatric population, and in the treatment of vascular malformations. He has published widely in peer-reviewed journals, and has delivered more than 50 invited lectures in the US and Europe. He is a medical volunteer for the charity Operation Childlife.
